MY SWEET GIRLS

This is a particularly hard week for me.  Perhaps the worst week ever, and yet it is bittersweet because it is a milestone for my sweet girls.  Weren't they babies just yesterday with Katie leading Anna into trouble?

I was cleaning out my make up drawer yesterday and found three little bracelets, made for me with the greatest of love.

I put the bracelets on and went downstairs to say "Hey, remember these" both girls asked me to wear them to graduation...along with my new dress, my new shoes, my hair just done I will be wearing my most prized possessions 3  bracelets made with clumsy little fingers by (in my opinion) the sweetest little girls ever.

The Flanagan students who received awards and scholarships were honored on Tuesday, May 22.  Both Katie and Anna were honored for their scholarships.

PROM!

1. The day started with hair appointments, our hair dresser Franny has been doing my hair for 10+ years. The girls gave her pictures and she did a great job.
2. It started pouring rain and never stopped until after the kids were already at the prom.
3. Fabians's Mom came to take pictures. She was the only one to get the flowers on.
4. Anna and her boyfriend Fabian paid to go in a limo with a bunch of friends, turns out the Limo broke down and they had to ride on a party bus .
5.  Katie decided to go with 2 other good friends and was driven by one of the girls father. This was really nice as the event was over by the beach.
6. Still raining, Anna's dress got very wet and she was upset.
7.  Kids came home-had a great time!
okay, I am going to try to do pictures again, if it doesn't work check back later when Anna can help me.

SILVER KNIGHTS AWARDS PT.2

In my last blog I explained that Anna was nominated for a Silver Knights Award, this event is sponsored by the Miami Herald.  It was an exciting night, and such an honor for Anna to be  nominated.

The list of the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Silver Knights nominees.  We will attend the ceremony tonight.  It is a very big deal and it will be televised. 

COLLEGE SPIRIT DAY & STANDARDIZED TESTING-GUESS WHO IS HAVING MORE FUN?

TODAY THE SENIORS AT FLANAGAN HIGH HAD A SPIRIT DAY-THEY ALL GOT DECKED OUT IN THE STUFF FROM THE COLLEGE THAT HAD ACCEPTED THEM.  MEANWHILE LITTLE JIA HAS STANDARDIZED TESTING ALL WEEK.  THIS DETERMINES WHETHER SHE GOES TO THIRD GRADE.

Our Wild Things...

One of the favorite times for the little Parnham twins was book time before bed.  Mommy and Daddy would read a book for good night time.  Hands down the favorite book was "Where the Wild Things Are."  Anna and Katie still know the book by heart, with all of the actions we made up for Max and the wild things.  We still quote "Oh please don't go-we'll eat you up-we love you so!"

Yesterday Max Sendak, author of "Where the Wild Things Are" died.  When he got to heaven we hope "he found his supper waiting for him and it was still hot."
