KATIE IS A GENIUS-THE REST OF US, NOT SO MUCH...

KATIE'S PROJECT

LET ME JUST TELL YOU THAT IF I WERE IN SCHOOL TODAY IT WOULD BE HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA, LET ALONE A COLLEGE DEGREE.

OUR BUSY LITTLE HONORS STUDENT IS TAKING HUMAN BIOLOGY ONLINE.  SHE HAD AN EXAM THE OTHER DAY THAT SHE HAD TWO TRIES AT.  KATIE GOT A 90% ON THE FIRST ONE, WASN'T HAPPY, SO PROCEEDED TO TAKE IT AGAIN AND GOT A 100! 
(WHO DOES THAT???)

THIS WEEK SHE HAD TO DO AN ONLINE PROJECT

I JUST THOUGHT THAT SOME OF YOU MIGHT FIND THE PICTURES INTERESTING.
WHILE SHE IS DOING THIS KATIE IS MULTITASKING, PLAYING HER SIMS GAMES AND WATCHING HER LATEST SERIES OF SHOWS.
 I WOULDN'T EVEN KNOW SHE WERE HERE IF SHE DIDN'T COME UP TO SAY "GOODNIGHT MOTHER" OR "GOOD NIGHT LESA"
NOW I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THIS PROJECT IS
THERE ARE MANY MORE PICTURES.
I'M  JUST THINKING MAYBE WE COULD USE THIS AS JIA'S FOURTH GRADE SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT?  THINK THEY WOULD GO FOR THAT?

AS YOU KNOW OUR BEAUTIFUL DAISY PASSED AWAY ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF AGO.  SO THE WOMEN OF PARNHAM SOUTH DECIDE IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO GO TO ANIMAL CONTROL "JUST TO LOOK!!!!!!" HA!  ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANNA AND I KNOW THAT SELF- CONTROL IS NOT OUR STRONG POINT.  KATIE WASN'T WITH US TO SLOW US DOWN AND JIA WAS OUR SILENT PARTNER..WELL, YOU KNOW HOW THAT GOES, WE LEFT WITH A 49 POUND BEAST THAT DREW CALLS A "PUPPY'"  THIS PUPPY CAN KNOCK ME OVER AND THE HUFFY LITTLE CATS HAVE TAKEN THEMSELVES OFF TO THE GARAGE AND WE HAVEN'T SEEN THEM SINCE.  DREW LOVES THE DOG.  I HAVE HAD EVERYTHING THAT WASN'T CHEWED  ON, RIPPED, OR OTHERWISE DEMOLISHED FINISHED OFF.  THE NEW PUPPY IS CALLED ARGO-OF JASON AND THE GOLDEN FLEECE, NOT THE MOVIE ( WE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO OUR CANADIAN  RELATIVES.)  THE GIRLS WANTED TO NAME THE DOG "TARGET" AND THOUGH IT IS MY FAVORITE STORE, I REFUSE TO RUN UP AND DOWN THE STREETS YELLING TARGET!  I THINK WE NEED AN INTERVENTION, OR AT LEAST A SIZE AND WEIGHT REQUIREMENT.

Tim is a great role model for kids, a caring giving person, and a missionary spreading the word of God, through Jesus Christ, our savior.  No matter what is in store for him, it will be what the Lord has planned.

ANNA CAME HOME TONIGHT!!!!  She is staying for the long weekend.  Anna took the UCF bus.  Here are the texts she sent on the way:

Says it all about Miami, but it was a very good day in Miami today.

Katie Gets News!

As I may have mentioned Kate has been accepted into the Honors College at Florida  International University.  Katie didn't know until this week that all of her classes were in the mornings and two of them are online.
ANYWAY, when she found this out she went to all the elementary schools in the area and asked them if they had any "after care" positions, these are  young adults that work with kids until their parents can come and get them after work. With Katie's years of experience with children on the autism spectrum, and her desire to work with the younger children she was a "shoe in."  She went down to the Broward County School Board to be finger printed, they also checked her birth certificate,  diploma and driver licence.  They think she will start on Wednesday!  She will be at a school called Silver Shores which is about 5 minutes away . She will work 1:30 till 6:00.  As an aside, Jia is also in aftercare at her school Silver Palms.  It is not because we can't pick her up, but there is absolutely no children her age in our neighborhood, so my Psychologist recommended that it would be a great way for her to develop social skills.  She loves it and begs us to let her stay longer on Fridays.

Anna'a Room-Living Large!

A few posts back I showed pictures of fixing up Anna’s new room at school, now I have finished products of her bedroom (I think the common area and the kitchen are too messy to take pictures of at this moment.)  This is a housing complex that is affiliated with the University, so her housing money covers it if she cooks at home as does her laundry if she does it  at home,that is how much the difference is!  Four girls live in each apartment, so Anna is living with 3 very good friends from her dorm last year.  Each room has a full bed and it’s own bathroom.  The apartment comes with a kitchen, dining room, washer and dryer, a living room and a patio. Because the complex is part of the University they have a resident assistant and building meetings.  There is also a 24 hour manned gatehouse.  The girls live on the top floor (that makes me very happy) Meanwhile Katie has some great news but I will let her tell you…for those of you who read our blog (and I hope you do) this giant segment starts with Jia’s trip to Canada, watch out, she has plans to move there now!  Love to all!
